Super austenitic stainless steels are defined as austenitic, iron-based alloys that have PREN greater than 40. 654SMO is a super austenitic stainless steel which contains 22% nickel, 24.5% chromium and 7% molybdenum. Its corrosion resistance is equivalent to that of the best nickel-base alloys.
